Main Point: Christmas can be an opportunity to take action to move closer to God so we don’t miss it. We don’t want to miss the blessings and beautiful plan God has for our lives.

Matthew 2: 1. The Wise Men took action because they believed.
 v1, the wise men traveled a long way to witness the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with their own eyes.

The Prophecies were clear that a Savior would be born.
Micah 5:2. Out of Bethlehem would come a ruler that is everlasting.
Isaiah 9:6-7. A child would be born that will bring peace and his rule shall not end.
Isaiah 7:14. A Virgin will be with child and that child is ‘Emmanuel’- God with us….

Why did so many people miss the birth of God in the Flesh?
1 John 2:15-17. Don’t get to busy with worldly things because you will miss eternal things. Christmas helps us to remember that God came to earth so we may have eternal life.

Pastor’s thoughts (Don’t miss it)
 Not many people actually understood that the Son of God was literally born on earth to save the world from Sin and Death. The short list is as follows: Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zechariah, Shepherds, Simeon, Ana, and Wiseman.
 It’s amazing how a prophecy about the birth of God incarnate on earth, was missed by so many people.
 Why did the nation of Israel, the Jewish people, the religious leaders, miss the baby prophesied that changed the world? Too busy with their own selfish agenda.
 Based on the short list of people who actually understood the significance of Jesus’ birth, it is evident that many people ‘missed it’, they missed Jesus.
 So knowing that God so loved the world, he sent his only begotten Son to die for our sins so we can have eternal life, it is important that we don’t miss it. Like they missed it 2,000 years ago.
