Time to Grow pt5. Blessed are the Peacemakers

Growing into Spiritual Maturity. Lessons learned so far:
1. Quarreling shows immaturity.
2. God is a God of Order – Honor Authority.
3. God uniquely works with us. Sin is not always the same for all.
4. God gives us freedom to grow into Spiritual Maturity.
5. A peacemaker shows spiritual maturity.

Main Point: Strive to be a peacemaker in all things. Growing mature Christians are instruments of peace.

Foundation Scripture #1: Matthew 5:9. Blessed are the peacemakers.
Foundation Scripture #2: James 3:13-18. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Scriptures about being a peacemaker
Hebrews 12:14. Strive for peace with everyone.
Ephesians 4:3. Be eager to maintain peace.
Romans 12:18. If possible be at peace with everyone.
Romans 14:19. Follow after things that bring forth peace.

1 Corinthians 13:11. Put away childish things. In other words began to think and act spiritually mature.

Peacemaking inside the church (keeping peace with your church leaders).

Scriptures pertaining to keeping peace with church leaders.
1 Timothy 5:17-20. Give leaders double honor, give them the benefit of the doubt, and don’t receive rumors.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13. Esteem your leaders high in love. Be at peace.
Hebrews 13:17. Be obedient to your spiritual leaders. Leaders will give an account to God.
