The Perfect Sacrifice – Easter

Main Point: Because Jesus was perfectly righteous and was sacrificed as unrighteous, He was the perfect sacrifice.

God’s laws are true and never change.
Romans 6:23. The wages of sin is death

So the only way for humanity to live eternally in the presence of God was to stand righteous before God. Philippians 3:9

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Hebrews 9:22

During the Old Testament, before Jesus, God instructed his people to offer an animal sacrifice set way to emphasize that sin had to be dealt with.

Animal sacrifices have ended because Jesus Christ was the ultimate and perfect sacrifice.

Why was Jesus the Perfect Sacrifice?
He was one of us. John 1:14. The word of God became flesh.
He was sinless. 1 Peter 2:21-25. Jesus was sinless and but bared our sins.
He is divine. Colossians 2:9. Jesus represents is the fullness of the Godhead

Easter Scriptures:
1 Timothy 2: 6. He gave his life as a ransom for all
1 Corinthians 5:21. He knew no sin, God made him as a sinner, so we could become righteousness of God
