Helping People Expecting Nothing in Return
VBS for Children
The colonia has nearly 200 children under the age of 16 who love listening to Bible stories and are hungry to hear about a God who loves them no matter who they are or where they live. The children are fluent in English & Spanish.
Food Distribution
We distribute food to the impoverished families. Groceries are given away at every outreach as well as special occasions. In addition, we distribute turkeys and groceries during thanksgiving and Christmas.
Home Repair & Construction
Many of the homes are still incomplete and are in need of repairs. The families are living in unfinished houses due to the fact that they can only complete repairs when money is available.
Bringing Hope to Impoverished Communities
Hope Community Church has been working in partnership with Open Hands Community Charitable Services for over 15 years with a foodbank, thrift store, “Toys for Tots” distribution, backpacks, school supplies, and school shoes distribution to low income families in Deep South Texas.
