Sermon Notes:

Main Point:  The church was bought with the blood of Jesus and will never be defeated.

The Church is bought by the blood of Jesus

Acts 20:28. Church leaders are to oversee the church flock and protect it from wolves.

The Church will never be defeated

Matthew 16:18. The church will never be defeated because it belongs to Jesus and Jesus will protect it.

The Church provides encouragement to the members

Hebrews 10:24-25.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

• encourage one another by being faithful in church
• encourage one another by quoting scripture
• encourage one another by serving/helping others
• encourage one another by praying for others

The Church is to sing songs of worship and thanksgiving to God

Colossians 3:16. In church we admonish one another through songs of gratitude to God.

• John 4:22-24.  God the father seeks people who are worshipping in spirit and in truth
• What does God do when he finds people in true worship?  God will fill them with (love, joy, humility righteousness etc…)

A Church that Hungers and Thirsts for Righteousness will be filled.

Matthew 5:6. Passion for Righteousness leads to fulfillment through peace, joy, belonging etc…)

Matthew 18:20. God will show up when we gather in Jesus’ name.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• This church was established in 1936
• I have no doubt that over the last 87 years many people have fasted and prayed that this church would make a powerful impact for the Kingdom of God.
• My prayer is that this church be full of people with true praise and worship
• It is true praise and worship that invites the Holy Spirit to move in supernatural ways.
• My hope is that every time we walk in through those doors we come expecting to encounter the Love and presence of God.
• When we begin to encounter the Love of God lives are changed
• My expectation is that anyone you invite to this church will encounter the Love and the presence of God and be transformed.
• We are the church.  God will inhabit the praises of his people.  
• Don’t be satisfied with anything less than true worship.  He is worthy.

Conclusion:

• Be passionate proud about being part of a church that knows how to Praise King Jesus. 
• Always come into church expecting the presence of the Lord to inhabit the praises of His people
• The church (you and I) is the special bride of Christ.
• Be faithful, be humble, be proud, be committed, to represent the Kingdom of God
