Time to Grow

Main Point: It is clear in God’s word that we should continue to grow in faith and knowledge and spiritual maturity.

Scriptures about spiritual growth.
1 Corinthians 3:2-8. Milk signifies immaturity and meat signifies meat. Immaturity quarrels about things that don’t really matter.
1 Peter 2:2-3. Desire the word of God so you may spiritually grow like a baby desires milk to physically growing.
Hebrews 6:1. Grow beyond the basics and grow into Spiritual maturity.

Example of Spiritual maturity:
1 Corinthians 8:1-13. There is only one true God so what harm comes from eating food offered to an idol. None. However, if we eat and it causes someone else to stumble/sin then we should not eat.

This is what Spiritual Maturity looks like:
2 Peter 1:5-8. “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; And to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Why is it important that we aim to grow in Spiritual Maturity?
Ephesians 4:13-16. Maturity leads to unity because mature Christians don’t focus on division they focus on what brings unity. And what brings unity is Love which is what Jesus is all about
