Main Point:  After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit filled the hearts of Christians to empower them to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.

How important is the Holy Spirit in our lives?  
The Holy Spirit bring comfort, truth, direction, and power.

What is the Holy Spirit?
God’s power in action (Micah 3:8)
God sends out his Spirit by projecting his Power, presence, and Love to anyone who is willing to receive it in Jesus name.

Jesus said the following about the Holy Spirit.

• John 14.26.  God the father sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus name to remind us and guide us to the teachings of Jesus, which is truth.
• John 15:26. The Holy Spirit will help guide us into truth and bear witness of Jesus.  Sent by Jesus by the will of the father.
• John 14:16. Jesus will ask the father and the father will send a helper, comforter to be with us forever.
• Luke 11:13. Just like we give good gifts to our children, how much more shall our heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
• Acts 1:1-11.  Jesus made it clear once again that the disciples were going to receive power to spread the gospel message once the Holy Spirit had come upon them.
  • This event was not a one-time event just for the disciples.  How do we know?  Many of you in this room have experience the Holy Spirit come upon you.
• When you continually experience the presence of God or the Holy Spirit and receive it into your spirit, then the Holy Spirit does the work of transforming you to become more like Jesus. 
  • This is a process that leads to spiritual maturity.
  • If you do not intentionally ask and receive for the Holy Spirit to fill you, you will stay stagnate in your Christian walk.

Christians need to intentionally seek to be filled with the Spirit of God as much as possible:
Ephesians 5:15-21 be filled with the spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns, making melody in your heart for him, giving thanks always to God.

• After the resurrection of Jesus and after the disciples were filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit, the disciples were urging people to do the following things
  • Be born again
  • Be water baptized
  • Receive the holy Spirit
• The disciples understood how important it was to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  It was the power people needed to defeat darkness around them.
  • Consider this:  Not even the resurrection of Jesus Christ empowered the disciples.  It was the Holy Spirit that empowered them. 
• How important is the Holy Spirit in our Christian walk? Holy Spirit brings comfort, truth, direction and power.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• My prayer for this church, is that everyone who walks in these doors can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit which is the presence and power of God.
  • This only happens when the people, the congregation genuinely come to church for true worship, in spirit and in truth.
  • If we have that in this church and we continue to grow in our passion to be close to God and to be transformed by the spirit of God, then there is no doubt that the power of God will manifest in this church.
  • It doesn’t matter how many people are in this room.  If we are true worshippers, then get ready for some awesome powerful, signs and wonders type services. 
  • Who is in.
• We don’t have to be perfect or sinless.  We just have to be willing to be perfected by allowing the Holy Spirit to fill us and transform us to become more Christ like. 
• Jesus is worthy of it all praise and worship. 

Conclusion:

• Our God understands us. 
• God loves us.
• God wants to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower us for His Kingdom
• Do not quench the Holy Spirit.  Receive it gladly and be transformed into righteousness

Main Point:  On this resurrection Sunday, we celebrate that Jesus Christ is the Messiah/the Christ/Son of Man/the Word of God/God incarnate/Soon Coming King.  It is not enough to believe; As Christians, we must surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  The evidence of true surrender is the fruit of your works for God’s Kingdom.

Foundation Scripture: James 2:14-20.  Surrendered faith brings forth works for God’s Kingdom.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important day in History

• If it’s a lie we worship in vain
• If it is the truth, those that believe will share in the Glory of His Kingdom forever
• we want to worship in spirit and in truth

Jesus claimed to be deity “The Son of Man”

• Mark 14:61-62.  Jesus clearly answers yes to the question “Are you the Christ”
• Daniel 7:13-14.  The religious leader new Jesus was referring to himself in this passage calling himself
  • “The Son of Man” with dominion, and glory, and an everlasting Kingdom and that all people would serve him.

Jesus is alive

• Matthew 20:11-18.  Mary sees a resurrected Jesus. Jesus is alive.
• Matthew 20:19-22.  Jesus appears to His disciples to prove his resurrection to them.  Jesus is alive.
• Matthew 20:24-30.  Jesus appears to ‘doubting Thomas’ and proves his resurrection to him.  Jesus is alive.
  • All the disciples who saw the resurrected body of Jesus died as martyrs (except John) never rejecting the truth of the resurrection because they saw the resurrected God incarnate with their own eyes.  
• Though there is plenty of evidence proving Jesus rose from the dead; for believers, we don’t even need that evidence to believe.
  • We believe because, it is a fact that Jesus transformed us.  We were blind and now we see.  We were dead in spirit and now our spirits are alive. 
    • Our evidence is a transformed heart and encountering his love, continuing to be transformed.
    • Doubting Thomas needed to see the nailed pierced hands.
      • But we have all the evidence we need in our transformed lives.  Jesus lives.

Judas and the Lordship of Jesus Christ

• Matthew 26:25. Judas called Jesus Rabbi, which means a great teacher of the Torah
• Matthew 27:3-5.  Judas called Jesus an innocent man.
  • Judas never called Jesus Lord
  • Other disciples did call Jesus Lord.  Matthew 8:23-27.

Pastor’s Thoughts about Judas:

• The reason Judas missed it, was not that he did not believe Jesus was or could be the Messiah, it was because he would not surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
  • Judas wanted a Messiah that would conquer his enemies
    • Jesus required that his disciples love their enemies
• Judas saw all the miracles Jesus did and had all the evidence needed to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus but he refused and the enemy took him.
• Be a heart that surrenders to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
• Do not refuse to make Jesus Lord of your life.  Surrender to His Lordship.  Don’t be Judas.

Conclusion:

• Resurrection Sunday is the most important day of human history.  It is the day sin and death were defeated!
• Jesus claimed to be deity and His resurrection proved it.
• Jesus is alive
• Surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life.

Main Point:  As believers in Christ, we are to be True Worshipers of God.
Jesus himself has told us in scripture. That True Worship is to “Worship God in Spirit and Truth.”
 
Opening Scripture:  John 4:23-24 NKJV

There are people who believe that there are many ways to worship God.
For example: diligently praying, reading the bible every day, that attending meetings on time, going to church every week and faithfully giving is worshiping God. Yet others believe that tolling, working, forsaking and expending for the Lord is worshiping God. Is God pleased with this kind of worship? Does worshiping God in Spirit and Truth only involve these external things?

John 4:21,23 NKJV- The Lord Jesus clearly told us God’s will and requirements for True Worship: It doesn’t matter where one worships God, nor should anyone follow any rule or ceremony, but one must worship in Spirit and Truth.
 
Ephesians 3:14,17-19 NKJV- We need to comprehend who we are worshiping and the great love that He has for us. We need to be filled with the fullness of the Creator of Heaven and Earth. This passage in Ephesians is a call to remember the enormity of God’s love for us; it is a call to worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
 
Why should we worship in Spirit and Truth?
Because we live to Give God Glory! Someone asked Jesus, what is the greatest commandment? Mark 12:29-30.
 
True Worship – is our supreme duty, and our highest privilege!
 
John 4:3-24 NKJV- Jesus has a conversation about True Worship with a Samaritan woman at a well.

What Is True Worship?
John 4:21-24 NKJV- True Worship explained in these four verses.

How do we Worship in Spirit and Truth?

• We Worship the Right God
  • 1 Corinthians 8:6- “There is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him”
• We Worship in the Right Place
  • When the Samaritan woman asked, “Where is the correct place of worship?” Jesus said, “Worship Him in spirit and truth.” Any Place / Any Time.
• We Worship in the Right Way
  • Worship has to come from within. It comes from the heart. To worship God in Spirit, you need the Holy Spirit of God. Our worship rises no higher than our concept of God.
• We Worship for the Right Purpose
  • We shouldn’t come just to get something out of worship. We should come to put something into it. But, we should always come expecting to have an encounter with the living God.

Closing Thoughts:

• It’s easy to leave a church feeling entertained rather than transformed.
• When our faith becomes just a reflection of our current culture, when It’s designed to make us feel comfortable rather than holy, we’re just cheering for ourselves.
• True worship isn’t how good the band sounds or how cool the aesthetic is. It’s about the condition of our hearts.

Main Point:  We are flawed instruments redeemed by Jesus to be heirs to God’s Kingdom.  God is not looking for perfect people He is just looking for hearts willing to be perfected

We are heirs to God’s Kingdom

• Romans 8:16-17.  Heirs to suffering and heirs be glorified with Christ
• Ephesians 3:6. Gentiles are fellow heirs and partakers of the promise of everlasting life as heirs.

The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy

• The enemy knows you are an heir and is at work to deceive as many people as possible to stop the spread of the Gospel.
• John 10:10. The enemy is actively trying to steal, kill, and destroy people.
  • He does it by deception and half-truths.
  • He does it through temptation of sin.
  • It is true that we are flawed sinners and don’t deserve everlasting life with God.                                
    • The part that the enemy leaves out is that God redeems flawed instruments like us
      • and because of the redeeming blood of Jesus we are heirs to the Kingdom of God
      • not because we are good enough (works) but because by grace are we saved through faith.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• This is why God is not looking for perfection in you; He is just looking for a heart willing to be perfected.
  • If that is you, a heart willing to be perfected, then you are on a journey to be more Christlike
• There is nothing the enemy can do to Kill, steal or destroy your salvation or your calling.
• Hearts willing to be perfected will grow.

God is patient and merciful

• Psalm 103:8. The Lord is slow to anger and plenty merciful.

A heart after God’s will

• Acts 13:21-22.  God said David was “A man after God’s own heart”
  • David experienced God’s power with the Lion and the Bear and Goliath and all the battles he won
  • David loved God but David was a flawed sinner.
  • As King with all the power of the Kingdom of Israel, David did not let his pride blind him from the truth of his imperfections.
    • King David repented about Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• Of all the great acts of king David, I believe the one that gives him the title of “A man after God’s own heart”
  • is not the lion, the bear, or winning all the battles, or even defeating Goliath
    • it was repenting after the prophet Nathan confronted his sin.
      • King David had all the power in the world to hide his sin and even justify his actions but instead David repents and prays unto the Lord “Create in me a clean heart”

Create in me a clean heart

• Psalm 51:10-12.  A heart willing to be perfected.
  • There is joy in the salvation of the Lord

• Is that your cry out to God today, “Create in me a clean heart”
• Are you a flawed instrument “Willing to be Perfected”

Conclusion:

• We are flawed instruments redeemed by Jesus to be heirs to God’s Kingdom.

• And renew a right spirit within me.

Main Point:  God is in control and is at work to save as many people as possible from the deception of the enemy.  God uses flawed people to advance his Kingdom and to bring salvation to all who humble their hearts unto the Lord.

  • Many scholars believe the Ezekiel 38 war occurs shortly before the 7 year tribulation.

  • 150 years before King Cyrus reign, the prophet Isaiah prophesied that King Cyrus of Persia would help God’s chosen people.

Main Point: True Worship is a heart condition where a heart genuinely loves God.  And loving God results in actions to please God.  Actions like Prayer, True Worship, and Cheerful Giving.

True Worship is not something you can see with the human eye

• True Worship is a heart condition
• True Worship is not a task or duty to be right with God, it is a response that comes from a genuine love for God.

King David an example of a heart that loves God.

• 1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22, King David is described as "a man after God’s own heart," meaning:
  • David deeply loved, pursued, and desired to do God's will.
  • While not sinless, David's heart was aligned with God's because he practiced sincere repentance, genuine humility, and constant praise, often contrasting with King Saul's disobedience.

• Do you make decisions in life to make self-happy?
• Or do you make decisions in life to pursue God’s will even when uncomfortable?

Old Testament True Worship

• Exodus 10-12-13.  God requires people to love God, and serve God with all their heart and to keep the commandments (mosaic law). 
• God gave the Jews the Mosaic law as way to worship him in the old testament
• True worship in the old testament was obedience to the Mosaic law
  • As long as their heart was obedient to the mosaic law because they loved God, this was true worship
  • If obedience to the Mosaic law was for man made reasons or just tradition it is not true worship.
    • For example, obeying the mosaic law because it is your culture/tradition to do it.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• In the Old Testament, obeying the Mosaic Law was a, if not the, primary form of true worship for Israel,
  • serving as a sign of their covenant relationship with God, a means of sanctification, and a reflection of His holiness.
• It was not a method of salvation but a way to live as a distinct, holy people.

A transition of True Worship begins with Jesus

• A transition from Old Testament true worship to New Testament true worship was prophesied.
• Jeremiah 31:31-34.  God promises to initiate a new, internal covenant with Israel and Judah, distinct from the Mosaic Law.

Jesus clarifies New Testament true worship

• John 4:19-26.  Jesus explains that true worship is now a heart condition not a law to follow.
• Hebrews 10:8-10.  Jesus fulfilled the law by replacing it with true redemption and sanctification through the blood of Jesus.  Jesus is the final sacrifice needed for redemption.

 
Summary:

• Analyze your heart.  Is it a heart of true worship. 
  • Meaning:  Are the decisions you are making being made because you love God.
• Do you love God?  Then make sure you are worshipping in spirit and in truth
  • Worship looks like Surrender, Sacrifice, and service.
    • Surrender, sacrifice and serve, because you love God.
• True Worship is a heart condition, where the heart genuinely loves God
• True Worshippers will live in true joy and peace

Main Point:  God loves a cheerful giver.  Giving sacrificially as unto the Lord because we love God. Giving brings blessing and glory to God’s Kingdom.

Foundation Scripture:  Mark 12:41-44.  God measures our giving based on a measurement of sacrifice.

• Give sacrificially because it is a joy to give and you love God.
• Love God and Give cheerfully.
• It is more blessed to give than to receive.
• One day when God judges your giving; what will he say?  Well done?

Why do Christians Give?

• John 14:15-21.  Because we love God and want to show gratitude (2 Corinthians 9:10-12)

How much should we give?

• Ten Percent of your earnings to support the work of your home church.
• Anything above ten percent is an offering and should be given as your heart leads.

What happens when we give with a genuine heart to love God?

• 2 Corinthian’s 9:6-8.  We will reap bountifully.

• Giving should be voluntary, not forced, and done cheerfully
• Give tithes and offerings consistently and cheerfully
• The goal of giving is to supply the needs of the church and others to bring Glory to God’s Kingdom
• Give sacrificially as unto the Lord.

• Sacrificial:
  • It should sometimes involve giving up something valuable, reflecting Christ's ultimate sacrifice (2 Corinthians 8:1-2).

  • Jesus taught giving should be done in secret, not for human praise (Matthew 6:3-4).

  • The purpose is to supply the needs of others and the church, glorifying God and showing His character.

Surrender

• Biblical surrender is the willingness to totally yield our own will, desires, and control to God's authority,
  • Viewing it, not as defeat but as courageous trust and obedience to His perfect plan.
• Luke 9:23-24. Deny self and follow Jesus regardless of trials and tribulations.
• Galatians 2:20. It is not our life to live.  We surrender our life for the cause of the Gospel.
• Surrender in one statement:  My life is yours.

Sacrifice

• Biblical Sacrifice is giving something valuable to God as an act of worship, atonement, or thanksgiving.
  • Your time in the secret place, at bible study, serving others, fasting and praying. Etc.
• Romans 12:1. Dedicate yourself completely to Godly Kingdom things.  This is an act of worship.
• Sacrifice in one statement:  Whatever it takes for the Kingdom.

 
Service

• Biblically, service means a loving unselfish action toward God and others, rooted in humility and selflessness, extending beyond mere duty to become a way of life.

• When people worship with a genuine heart, God will show himself strong through them.
• God will reward true worshippers with an overflow.

God seeks true worshipers

• John 4:23-24.  True worshipers will worship in spirit and in truth.  God seeks true hearts of worship.
  • We want God catching us in an act of true worship.  A genuine heart acting unselfishly for the good of God’s Kingdom.
• 2 Chronicles 16:9. God is looking to and fro for people with genuine hearts toward him. 
  • God will show himself strong thru true worshipers.

What is true worship?

• True worship is not the act of singing songs.  It is a genuine heart singing songs unto the Lord.
• True worship is not the act of going to church. It is a genuine heart in obedience unto the Lord.
• True worship is not an action alone.  It is a genuine heart acting unselfishly for God’s Kingdom.

What does worship look like?

• starts with surrender,
• lives in sacrifice,
• and moves through service.

 
Pastor’s Thoughts:

• Are you living a life surrendered?  Have you determined your will is not as important as God’s will.  It’s not about being comfortable, it is about sacrifice for God’s Kingdom
• Is your life a living sacrifice in existence for the purpose of God’s Kingdom being advanced through you?
• Are you serving rather than being comfortable?  If you are comfortable, you are not serving.

3 points about worship

1. Point 1: The Source of Worship (God's Worth): God is great (Creator/Judge), worthy of all praise (Psalm 96:4).
2. Point 2: The Nature of Worship (Spirit & Truth): It's internal, not external; from the heart, not just lips (John 4:23-24).
3. Point 3: The Scope of Worship (A Life Lived): Surrender, Sacrifice, Service. (Romans 12:1).

These 3 distinct actions lay upon a foundation given to us by Jesus.
Matthew 22:35-40.  Love God. Love others.

There are 2 ways to react to the goodness and faithfulness of God

•  Ignore his goodness and continue doing your own thing.
  • Psalm 106:7-15.  Israel chose disobedience instead of continuing to praise God for his goodness and faithfulness.
• Respond to God’s goodness and faithfulness with actions showing gratitude and thankfulness.  Actions like prayer, worship, and giving.
  • James 2:17. Faith without works is dead.
  • Colossians 3;17.  Let all you do in words or deeds be done in the name of Jesus, always giving thanks to God.

Closing Thoughts:

• In 2026, be determined in your respond to God’s goodness and faithfulness by taking action advancing the Kingdom
  • Not because of the blessings we can receive but because God is good and faithful.  That is enough.
• In 2026, be determined to Pray like never before.
• In 2026, be determined to Worship like never before.
• In 2026, be determined to Give like never before.

Summary:

• In 2026 King Jesus will be praised because God is good and faithful.  Our Praise will look like Prayer, Worship and Giving in 2026; knowing that King Jesus will transform us as we praise King Jesus in Spirit and in Truth.     
• Take action responding to God’s goodness and faithfulness and you will see God’s hand move in supernatural ways in 2026.
• All my life God has been so faithful.  Jesus is worthy to be Praised.

Main Point:  In 2025, The Gospel of Jesus Christ advanced throughout the world and especially with young people in the USA.  In 2025 it has been confirmed, we are in revival and King Jesus will be praised.  And it is all about Love.

King Jesus will be praised-Holy Forever

• regardless of our actions:  the rocks will cry out if need be.  Holy Forever.
• Choose to Praise King Jesus regardless of circumstances.
• Scriptures about King Jesus Holy Forever
  • Philippians 2:1-11.  Jesus humbled himself to die for mankind and because he was sinless, God the father has exalted him and given him a name that is above every name.  King Jesus will be Praised.
  • Revelations 17:11-14.  The enemy will be defeated because it is written that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
  • I don’t want to wait until the book of Revelations plays out.  I want to Praise King Jesus now.
    • He has always been and we always be Worthy of all Praise and Holy Forever.

It’s all about Love.

• God is love and as we become more Christlike, we become powerful instruments of his love.
• Jesus Actions of Love
  • Jesus shows disciple to wash his feet and the feet of others because it is all about love
  • Soldier arresting him is healed by Jesus because it is all about love (Luke 22:47-51)
  • Jesus says forgive them for they know not what they are doing because it is all about love (Luke 23:33-34)
  • Jesus gives salvation to the thief on the cross because it is all about love (Luke 23:39-43)
  • Jesus says it is finished and dies sinless because it is all about love. (Luke 19:28-30)
  • The Gospel message of Jesus Christ is all about love
• 1 Corinthians 13:2. without love we are nothing.

• Current events, like Charlie kirk assassination and peace agreements in Israel, are signs of an end time revival
  • Many responded to assassination by going to church or joining bible study (show video)

• Matthew 24:14: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come"

Main Point:   The Gift of eternal life has no comparison.  The creator of all things gave us a gift we do not deserve because of Love.  That is why we celebrate Christmas.

Foundation Scripture:  John 3:16. Because of Love God sent his Son to redeem sinners into eternal life.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• Sinners who are not cleansed by Jesus can’t enter into everlasting life.
• Sinners who are cleansed by Jesus can enter into everlasting life
  • It is simple to understand.  Receive the Gift sent with Love from God.
    • It is difficult for many to receive the gift of eternal life because the gift comes with a surrender of our will and a total trust in God to save us and lead us by his will.

• Proverbs 3:5-6.  Trust in the Lord, not you’re understanding and he will direct your path.

Christmas Gifts:

• The giving of gifts on Christmas reminds us about God’s gift to mankind
  • so, when you give gifts this Christmas, think of Jesus birth, the greatest gift of all.
• A gift that is cherished is not ignored (A new car gift, will be used, an action to use the car will be evident
• Analyze your heart this Christmas season and make sure the gift of Jesus, which we celebrate during Christmas is not ignored. 
  • Determine in your heart that you will be taking an action for God’s Kingdom as evidence that you have accepted the gift with love.

The Wisemen took action:  Matthew 2:11

• Why?  Because they believed Jesus was the King of Kings.

Time for Action-as evidence of accepting God's gift:  Bring your gifts:

• Read your bible regularly
• Pray in your secret place time with God
• Give cheerfully to others and in your tithes and offering
• Fellowship in church with other believers to Praise and Worship King Jesus.

Conclusion:

• Christmas is all about ‘the gift’ of eternal life.
• The ultimate gift with love
• Take action in love as evidence that you have accepted with joy the Gift of eternal life.

Main Point:  You are qualified to answer your Godly Calling.  Those who surrender to the Calling will witness the supernatural hand of God move on their behalf.
                             
You are qualified. God said so….

• Ephesians 2:10. God created us to do good works so we should walk in the calling.
• Exodus 4:10-12.  God created you equipped/qualified to do the work of the Kingdom.

If you think you are not talented and gifted enough to be used for God’s Kingdom purpose.  I have a scripture for you:
1 Corinthians 1:27-29. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.  Let no man glory in his presence.
 
David answers the call to do extraordinary things:

• 1 Samuel 17:41-49.  David is called to defeat the Giant to save all of Israel.
  • David gave the reason this supernatural event was going to occur.
    • That all would know that there is a God in Israel.
    • And those witnessing these event would know God doesn’t need swords and spears.

David the Shepherd Boy.  Less than ordinary according to his father:

• 1 Samuel 16:6-13.  David the Shepherd boy was left out by his father but God sees the heart

Pastor’s Thoughts;

• God equips you, not just chooses you; He doesn't find perfect people, He makes ordinary, willing people extraordinary for His purpose, providing skills, strength, and guidance as you step out in faith.
• David had the most important thing.  He knew God.
  • He used his time as a shepherd to talk to God (secret place)
    • Those with a consistent secret place time with God will never be ordinary.

What do I do to accept what God has qualified?

• First, know God in the secret place.  This to me is the most important for any Christian to make happen in their lives.
  • I said this before, I will say it again,  “if I know you have a consistent secret place time with God” I know you are going to be ok.  Actually, better than ok.  You are going to do amazing things for God’s Kingdom.
• Second, once you know God personally, then begin to do works for God’s Kingdom that are not selfish.
  • Love others expecting nothing in return
  • Give unto others expecting nothing in return (this includes tithes and offerings)
    • You cannot out-give God.

Do these two things beginning this Christmas season and watch the hand of God move on your behalf.

Conclusion:

• Do you accept?
• You are qualified to answer your Godly Calling.  Those who surrender to the Calling will witness the supernatural hand of God move on their behalf. Like David.  Do you Accept?
• Establish your secret place and begin to do works unselfishly for the Kingdom of God.

Main Point:  God is calling you will you respond.

Main Point:  Faith without works is dead.  People with true faith produce works.

Current event update:  God is on the move.

Salvation comes by faith not by works

• Ephesians 2:8-9.  Your works outside of faith in Jesus will never bring salvation
• Philippians 2:12-13.  Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
  • Only God knows the heart.

Faith without works is dead
James 2:17-18.  Faith alone without action/works is not true faith.  True faith produces works for the Kingdom of God.

Don’t let your walls burn down: Do Good works with a pure heart.

• Your works will be judged and rewarded as stated in 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.
  • V11.  Jesus Christ is the only foundation in which we can be saved.
  • V12.  Gold, silver, hay, stubble are examples of your works on earth
  • V13.  Every man’s work shall be revealed to determine what sort it is
  • V14.  A reward is given to those whose works are proven to done with a pure heart
    • If works are like gold, it will be rewarded
  • V15.  If works are not done with a pure heart, then these works will burn
    • if it is hay and stubble, it will be burned and the person will suffer loss but will be saved

What are works?

• Anything you do that is done with a pure heart to serve the Kingdom of God is a work.
  • Works that look good but are done for selfish reasons are not works that will withstand God’s judgement of works.

Pastor’s thoughts:

• As Christians, we should look for opportunities to do good works with a pure heart.
  • Look for opportunities to serve
  • Ask your church leaders what you can do to serve
  • Don’t expect your carnal nature to be happy when you begin to produce good unselfish works.

 
Conclusion:

• Your salvation is not depended on good works.
• Your good works will be judged and rewarded in God’s Kingdom.
• Look for opportunities to do good works for God’s Kingdom

Main Point:  Thanksgiving is a Holiday in which we are thankful to God for living in this Blessed Nation.  As Christians, we are grateful to God for saving us and providing a way for us to be heirs to the Kingdom of God.

Current event update:  God is on the move.

• Israel Peace Agreement is adopted and endorsed by United Nations (A global body). Show Video
• Before the 7 year tribulation there will be peace and this peace agreement may be the peace that is needed before Christ returns.
• God controls big things like end time prophecy while Christians focus on being the salt and light of the earth.
  • We are Heirs to God’s Kingdom.

 
Heirs to the Kingdom of God

• Romans 8:14-18.  God’s word states that we are heirs of God’s Kingdom.
  • If we are heirs to a righteous Kingdom, then our actions and works should bring Glory to the Kingdom

Not of this world

• The world in biblical context, means any culture, system, society, relationships outside of God’s will.
• John 15:17-20.  V19.  We are not of the world.  We are heirs to God’s Kingdom
• Don’t try to please the world, it will hate you because the world does not know God.
• Romans 12:1-2.  As heirs to the throne of God; present yourself a living sacrifice remembering that you are not of this world so do not conform to this world. 

Pastor’s thoughts:

• This world is not our home
• Let your actions line up with who you are:  A child of God.  An heir to God’s Kingdom.
• Love and serve others because you know it pleases God. 
• Let God’s love flow through you into doing good works for others.

• Colossians 3:1-15.  Set your affections on things above.  Mortify sin in your life through faith in Jesus Christ

• Show your gratitude to God by doing good works with a pure heart that brings Glory to the Kingdom of God
• You are an heir to the throne because God loves you.
• This world is not our home so our actions should reflect that we are heirs to God’s Kingdom. 
• Be filled with the Spirit of God and you will receive power to overcome sin and the world

Main Point:  Every one of us needs God’s wisdom so we can make good decisions and avoid the painful consequences of poor choices.  Apply God’s wisdom in your life.  It’s Time to Live in Wisdom.

Foundation Scripture:  Proverbs 1:1-7.  The fear of the Lord is where wisdom begins.

To fear God means to have the proper respect, reverence and awe for him.

Applying Wisdom:

• Fear God.  Proverbs 3:5-7.  Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.
  • To trust in your own wisdom and understanding is a statement of Pride.
  • To seek God’s wisdom through the Holy Spirit is a statement of Humility
• Be humble.  James 4:6. 
• God sets himself against the proud, but shows favor to the humble.
  • Proverbs 16:19.  It is better to be humble among the poor than to live selfishly and proud with the rich.
• Value knowledge and understanding.  Proverbs 8:33. 
  • Knowledge is knowing what to do.  Understanding is knowledge applied appropriately.  Wisdom is knowing when to apply your knowledge appropriately.
• Treat others well.  Proverbs 11:17.  The merciful man doeth good to his own soul.
  • Don’t be kind only when it is convenient for your own self-interest.  Be kind just to be kind.  It’s all about Love.
  • Proverbs 19:17.  Especially be kind to those in need.
• Be willing to work.  Proverbs 6:10-11.  Don’t be afraid of hard work.   This is the key to avoiding poverty.
  • Working hard honor the Lord.
• Choose good friends.  Friends have the ability to influence for good or for bad so find good friends.
  • Proverbs 22:24-25.  Do not be friends with an angry or furious man because you may learn unwise ways.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:14.  Do not be unequally yoked with non-believers.
    • Does not mean don’t be friendly to all.  This means don’t form an unbreakable bond with unbelievers.
• Avoid strife.  Proverbs 20:3.  Avoiding strife is wise.  Fools love to quarrel.
  • Living in strife and quarrel takes up a lot of energy.  Use your energy for wisdom and Love.

Summary:

• Time to Live in Wisdom
• Living according to the Word of God is the best life you can ever live.

Main Point:  Pride is an abomination to God and He detest it. Sin has a price. Those who are proud in heart will suffer punishment. God will humble the proud!

Foundation Scripture:  Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV.  Pride is listed first of the seven things God hates.

• In all honesty, pride is a problem we all wrestle with. But, we all must heed what the Bible says about pride.

 
Proverbs 15:25 ESV- “The Lord tears down the house of the proud but maintains the widows boundaries.”
Proverbs 16:18 ESV- “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Proverbs 26:27 ESV- “Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.”
 
Seven sneaky symptoms of the infection of pride: #1 Fault Finding. #2 A Harsh Spirit. #3 Superficiality. #4 Defensiveness. #5 Presumption before God. #6 Desperation for Attention. #7 Neglecting Others.
 
The sin of pride will do five things to ruin your life: #1 Pride defies God. #2 Pride defiles man. #3 Prides divides society. #4 Pride dishonors life. #5 Pride destroys souls.
Psalm 139:23-24 ESV- “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”

• Isaiah 2:11 NKJV “The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.”

 
C.S. Lewis said, “As long as you’re proud, you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people. And as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something above you.”
 
Psalm 10:3-4 GNT-“The wicked are proud of their evil desires; the greedy curse and reject the Lord. The wicked do not care about the Lord; in their pride they think that God doesn’t matter.”
 
Mark 10:17-22 NKJV- The Rich Young Ruler. Four things come directly out of this passage.

• Proud men at their best are sinners at their worst.
• God’s perfect law condemns man’s sinful pride.
• No man can serve two masters.
• Whatever master a man chooses will master that man.

Pride tells us that we have to be first. But scripture tells us this!
Philippians 2:3-5 NIV- “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but…to the interests of others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset of Christ Jesus.

Closing Thoughts

• Consider your perspective today. Is it one of pride or of humility? Are you looking down or are you looking up. Choose eternal life and acknowledge that there is none good but God. Let go of any false idols or pride in your life.
• Repent of your sin, take up your cross, and follow Him. Give your heart completely to Jesus Christ and allow Him to be the Lord of your life.

Main Point:  The evidence is all around that God is moving to draw people toward him in revival.  Be ready by being the salt and light of the earth.

Foundation Scripture:
Matthew 5:13-16.  We are the Salt and Light of the world.  It is time to be bold and courage’s for our faith.

• Be ready, you are the salt and light of the world. Make the Kingdom proud of your stewardship as a son and daughter of the most high God.

The rapture of the church scriptures:

• 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18.  Those alive will be caught up to be forever with Jesus.
• 1 Corinthians 15:51-58.  In the twinkling of an eye we shall be changed from corruptible to incorruptible.
• Luke 17:31-36.  Do not look back to the things of this world, like Lots wife.  Be ready to be taken.

 
John saw the saints ruling and reigning with King Jesus:

• Revelations 5:1-14.  John saw King Jesus with the saints ruling over the earth.
• Be ready. 

 
Summary:

• God has a plan to redeem mankind.  Be ready
• God is on the move in Revival.  Be ready
• God will bring victory over sin and the devil.  Be ready
• You will be reunited with your loved ones for eternity.  Be ready.

Main Point:  The evidence is all around that God is moving and drawing people toward him in revival.  As Christians, we have a responsibility to be light and salt proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ in love.  Love is everything.

Foundation Scripture:
Matthew 5:13-16.  We are the Salt and Light of the world.  It is time to be bold and courage’s for our faith.

• It is time to use your gifts and talents and time for God’s Kingdom. Now is the time to shine your light.

• Readiness to work:  ready to share the Gospel, engage in ministry, and allow the Holy Spirit to work through their lives to bring about change
• Time to uphold Scripture and truth.  No compromising with sin.
