The Secret Place - Part 3

Main Point: Those who have a secret place are satisfied because we were created to be in close relationship with God the creator of all things.

Why was mankind created?

Colossians 1:6.  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Revelations 4:11. The Lord is worthy to receive glory and honor and for His pleasure God has created man

You were created for God and you will not have true joy and peace until you surrender to that.

Galatians 2:20.  I have been crucified with Christ. I no longer live but Christ lives in me.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

In these scriptures we just read: God’s word is clear that we are created for Him and for his pleasure we were created.

We were also created to praise and glorify and to be bring Glory to God.

The closer you are to God the more fulfilled and satisfied you are because you are living out the reason you were created.

The closer you are to God the more He showers blessings upon your life

Hebrews 11:6. God is a rewarded of those who diligently seek him.

Diligently seek him in the secret place:

A place where only you and God abide

Your carnal sinful nature does not want anything to do with the secret place with God.

Adam and Eve had a secret place with God but sin destroyed it

Because Jesus has conquered sin and death, we all have access to a secret place with God 

We were all created to have a secret place with God.

What do you do in the secret place?

You praise and worship God for what he has done and who He is (creator of all whose mercy is great)

You ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and empower to love and forgive others

You surrender your will to God’s will

You petition God with your request (let your request be made known to God)

You let God know how you feel (God can handle it when you’re not happy)

You let God know you trust him and you know he will make good all that the enemy means for evil against you.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

If you have a secret place and discuss these things you will never be the same

Your love for God will grow deeper and deeper

You will begin to weep when you even think about how good God is.
