Resurrection Power Continues

Apr 12, 2020    Elias Ozuna

Main Point of the Sermon today is: It’s Easter and the resurrection power continues. For Christians the resurrection of Jesus Christ is everything. The resurrection power continues in every new salvation and deliverance.

Recap some of Jesus final actions before choosing to die for our sins:

- The teaching of serving each other by washing the disciple’s feet.

- The last supper, preparing the disciples to continue without him even as he is being betrayed

- Last prayer in the garden. Asking the disciples to pray with them but they slept.

- Submitting willingly to soldiers while Peter wanted to fight

- Honoring his mother

- Asking the Father to forgive those crucifying him

- Surrendering his Spirit.

- Then the power of the Resurrection (and it continues to this day)

Philippians 2:5-11

V5. Let our mindset be like Jesus’s mindset. What was Jesus’ mindset? To serve!!!!

V6. Jesus was clearly equal to God the father because he is part of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

V7. Jesus lowered himself to a servant even though he was righteous royalty. Why? Because of Love!

V8. Jesus humbled himself, and was obedient even unto death

V9. Think about a righteous God dying as a sinner because of you and me. Because of Love! Because Jesus willingly sacrificed his life we have access to eternal glory and one day as v10 says

V10. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things on earth, and things under the earth.

V11. “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father”.

The Resurrection Power Continues

Romans 6:3-13. Jesus died so we can be resurrected like he was resurrected. The resurrection power continues.

V5. Since Jesus is our Lord, we also experience a resurrection from sin and death when we confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The resurrection power continues.

Have a blessed Easter and remember the resurrection power continues.
