Don't Lose Your Passion

May 19, 2019    Elias Ozuna

Main Point: Don’t lose your personal passion to love God and to answer the specific call God has for your life.

Foundation Scripture.  Philippians 2:12. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. There is only one final righteous judge, God almighty.

How can we best position ourselves to stay passionate about God?

-First, don’t be Solomon...Don’t lose your personal passion for God

-At the very least be Samson (for late bloomers)

-To maximize your life’s blessings here on earth strive to be like David (A sinner who repents and humbled himself as King)

Know Solomon’s story but don’t repeat it (He lost his passion).

1 Kings 3:1-15. At the beginning of his Kingdom reign, Solomon did not ask God for riches but ask God for wisdom to lead the people.

1 Kings 4:25-34. Solomon had it all. Possessions, riches, and wisdom. All kings of the earth came to Jerusalem to hear the Wisdom of Solomon.

1 Kings 9:1-9. Solomon builds the 1st temple and God gives Solomon warning about being obedient.

1 Kings 11:1-13. In all his Wisdom, Solomon could not distinguish the difference between his carnal passion and his passion to love God.

In order to avoid the same trap in our lives as Solomon fell into, you must have your own personal passion to Love God.

How did David keep his personal Passion?

1.Willingness to repent

2.Willingness to give God glory for all the good in his life

3.Willingness to take take action when God gave clear direction

You must have your own personal passion to Love God
