Get Ready for Impact: Humble Heart

Main Point: People who have humble hearts will see God intervene on their behalf. God will lift you up.  

The rich man: Mark 10:17-27.  The rich man was not willing to be totally dependent upon God.

The tax collector: Luke 19:1-10. The tax collector was willing to be totally dependent upon God.

Humility can be defined in different ways but at the core of humility is this concept, “A humble heart is totally dependent upon God and not their own abilities”.

Scriptures on Humility:

Proverbs 11:2. Having humility brings wisdom.

James 3:13. Wise people understand humility.

James 4:10. Humble yourself before the Lord and he will lift you up.

Proverbs 22:4. Humility is the fear of the Lord and with it comes wages and riches and honor.

Proverbs 15:33. Humility comes before Honor.

Lesson Learned: A wise person learns to be dependent on God even when things are going well financial, physically, and in relationships. 

-Be dependent on god everyday.

-God promises in scripture that he will lift you up when you humble yourself before the Lord.
