Main Point: People who have thankful hearts will impact people for God’s Kingdom. So get ready for impact.

Philippians 2:14-15. Don’t master the art of complaining. Instead find the good in others and in all situations. Paul helps to refocus to a heart of thankfulness.

Scriptures on Thanksgiving:

1 Chronicles 16:34. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good and his steadfast love endures forever.

Ephesians 5:18-20. Don’t get drunk with wine, but be filled with the spirit. Give thanks always for everything.

1 Thessalonians 5:18. Give thanks in all circumstances. Good and bad.

How do we learn to give thanks?

Giving thanks requires practice – don’t let criticism become your comfort response to a situation. Find the good in bad situations.

Give thanks in all circumstances. Trust that God is in the middle of all your circumstances and he is working to be bring good out of it. It takes strong faith to praise God for unrealized blessings.

Give thanks when things are going well. Don’t forget to thank God when things are going well.

Recognize the good that has come from bad experiences. God always turns what seems dark to light. I’m thankful for the taxes I pay because I know that means I have a job or a house.

Understand the power of thanksgiving. Thankful people are powerful people.

Lesson learned: God’s faithful people will always impact/influence things around them for Righteousness. So get ready by cultivating a heart of thanksgiving. There is power in thanksgiving. See the good in all things and be thankful and be at peace. His word is truth.
