Freedom to Grow into Spiritual Maturity- Time to Grow Pt 4

Mar 17, 2019    Elias Ozuna

Main Point: Since Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses, we are free from the law but do not use your freedom for unrighteousness, use your freedom to Love and Grow into Spiritual Maturity.

Growing into Spiritual Maturity. Lessons learned.

1.Quarreling shows immaturity

2.God is a God of Order – Honor Authority

3.God uniquely works with us. Sin is not always the same for all

4.God gives us freedom to grow into Spiritual Maturity.

In the Old Testament, God establishes the Mosaic Law.

1.The Food/Purity laws – Leviticus 11:1-4.

2.Atonement of sin laws (animal sacrifice) - Leviticus 4:1-5

3.The Moral Laws (like the Ten Commandments and sexual immorality) – Exodus 20:1-17. On Sexual immorality New Testament states confirms in 1 Corinthians 7:1-3; 8-9.

1 Corinthians 6:9-12

Foundation Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23. All things are lawful but not all things are good for me spiritually.

When Jesus died, the temple veil was torn and Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. So we are free from the old Mosaic Law, however your freedom in Christ should not be an excuse to sin against God’s moral laws.

Matthew 5:17-18. Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill the law.

Galatians 5:13-14. Because of faith in Jesus, we are free from the law. Don’t use that freedom to sin, but use the freedom to love and serve.
