Sermon Notes:
Main Point: After a week of camp, being with other believers wanting to encounter God’s presence, I always feel this sense of peace and freedom and joy because in God’s presence there is freedom.
Scriptures about Freedom:
Galatians 5:1. Once you have found freedom in Christ, do not return to the yoke of slavery.
- Only people with a stubborn heart against God, would prefer the yoke of slaver
- Like the Jewish people after being freed from Slavery in Egypt
- People with a love and thankful heart to God, will use their freedom to love and serve others. Answer the Call.
Galatians 5:13. Do not use your freedom on carnal things, instead use your freedom to love and serve others.
The Basics:
Who has set us free? Jesus
What are we free from? Sin and eternal death/hell
What should we do with this freedom we have in Jesus? Love and Serve others. Basically answer the Call God has for our lives
Pastor’s Thoughts:
- You have access to freedom from sin by the power of the Holy Spirit in your life
- You have Freedom from the things in this world that weigh you down.
- You are free from sin and eternal death, use your freedom to serve/help others
- As a child of God, freedom is your inheritance
2 Corinthians 3:17. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.
Conclusion:
John 8:36. If the son sets you free. You are free indeed.
- We are Hope community Church. A place where people can experience the presence of the Lord and find freedom.
- If we have genuine prayer, praise and worship and it continues to grow in this place many people will find freedom.
- God will use people with true prayer, praise and worship, to set people free.
