Pastor Elias Ozuna Sermon Notes

Main Point:  A strong relationship with Jesus is the path to rest and peace

Foundation Scripture:  Matthew 11:25-30.  Many wise men from this world never find salvation in Jesus because they are busy with worldly things, but many who the world sees as unwise find salvation in Jesus.  So who is wise?  It is the one who finds Salvation in Jesus.  Jesus is the path to rest and peace.

God Promises us many things in scripture.  We can trust in God’s promises.  Here are some examples of some promises God

  • God promises to hear your cries (1 John 5:14-15)
  • God promises Compassion (1 Peter 5:7)
  • God promises a comforter (The Holy Spirit) (John 14:6)
  • God promises faithfulness (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
  • God promises to bring good out of suffering (Galatians 6:9)
  • God promises goodness (Psalm 27:13)
  • God promises to guide us (Psalm 32:8)
  • God promise hope (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • God promises to always love us (Psalm 103:17)
  • God promises to provide for us (Philippians 4:19)
  • God Promises peace (Philippians 4:7)
  • God promises to be our refuge (Psalm 9:9)
  • God promises to restore joy (Psalm 30:5)
  • God promises to be our shield (Psalm 84:11)
  • God promises to sustain us (Psalm 27:5)
  • God promises to be with us (Hebrews 13:5)

Pastor’s Thoughts:

  • What God does not promise is that our life will run smoothly and perfectly.
  • Everyone has challenges in life, but the ones who grow stronger in faith through the challenges in life are the ones who have learned to put your hope in Jesus.
  • Put your trust the God is with you and he will see you through.
  • If you need to be delivered from an addiction, God will empower you.
  • If you need a financial miracle, God will see you through.
  • If you need a healing, God will provide a miracle.
  • If you need God to intervene to change the circumstances around you, God is with you.

Scriptures about tribulation

Romans 12:12.  Rejoice in hope (A relationship with Jesus brings hope).  Patient in Tribulation (Tribulation builds our faith as we trust in Jesus).  Continue Prayer (Pray, pray, pray.  Never stop believing in the power of prayer).

Romans 5:1-6.  We glory in tribulation because tribulation worketh patience and patience, experience and experience brings hope.  Jesus died for us because he loves us.
