Main Point: Total Dependency on Jesus is the key to everlasting true peace, rest
Main Point: Christmas is a Christian holiday that reminds us how God solved the problem that separated Man from God. All who accept Jesus as Lord are redeemed from the sin problem caused by Adam and Eve. Jesus is the Solution.
The problem:
Genesis 2:16. God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil
Genesis 3:1-24. The disobedience from Adam and Eve caused a separation between Man and God.
Pastor’s Thoughts:
- Because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, Mankind lost peace with God.
- Mankind had no way to reconcile with God because God is a righteous God that can’t mix with Sin.
- This created a problem, that is the separation between a loving God and Man
- The enemy, Satan, deceived Adam and Eve so they could be separated from God
Separation from God causes:
- Fear
- Lack of Peace
- Emptiness
- Hopelessness
- Shame
People who have not accepted Jesus as Savior have these 5 things no matter what they look like from the outside.
The Solution
Romans 5: 1-19.
- v1-Peace comes through Jesus Christ (Any peace felt outside of Jesus is a false peace and will be temporary)
- v3-For Christians, tribulations and trials bring forth patience, experience, hope, because we know God loves us.
- v8-Christ died for us, knowing that we were unworthy sinners that may never accept Him as Lord. That is Love.
- v18-One man (Adam) sinned against God that brought condemnation, one man stood righteous unto death that brought salvation and eternal life. Ultimately Peace. AMEN.
Pastor’s Thoughts:
- This Christmas season, be intentional about drawing close to God in your secret place
- God the Father provided a solution so we can be reconciled with Him because He loves us.
- Since God solved the problem of sin, through Jesus, let’s guard and protect our relationship with God by surrendering to His Will
- God’s ways are better than our ways.
- God provided the solution. All we have to do is walk in His will.
- Jesus is worthy of it all. Don’t let your carnal nature slow you down.
- Draw close to God in your secret place and He will draw close to you.
