Who I'm I in Christ

Main Point:  As Christians we are created by God to do His good work.  God has given us gifts and abilities designed specifically for us to bring Glory to His name.  God’s word instructs us to love God and love others, Trust and obey God’s word, and grow spiritually.  Walk in the Spirit and we will bring Glory to His name.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• Don’t’ try to be something outside of God’s design for you. 
  • You will not find peace and joy outside of God’s design.

As a Christian, the word of God says I am:

• I am created: Colossians 1:16–17
• I am wonderfully made: Psalm 139:14
• I am His workmanship: Ephesians 2:10
• I am called: 1 Peter 2:9
• I am forgiven: Ephesians 4:32
• I am loved: 1 John 4:11–12
• I am gifted: Romans 12:4–6
• I am cared for: 1 Peter 5:7

As a Christian, the word of God instructs us to:

• Love God and Love People.  Matthew 22:37-39
• Trust God and Obey God.  Proverbs 3:5-6
• Spiritually Grow.  Study God’s Word.  Psalm 119:105

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• In order to bring Glory to His name, we must walk in the Spirit.  Galatians 5:16.
  • The Spirit of God in us, leads us into good works.

                                               
Walk in the Spirit

• Yielding your daily life and decisions to the guidance of the Holy Spirit
  • Acknowledge God’s presence in every area of your daily life
  • Depend on God daily
  • Admit to yourself that your helpless to do good or conquer sin (like anger, pride, impatience, etc)

Conclusion:

• You were created and designed by God
• You are called to do good works
• You are called to love God and others
• You are called to trust and obey God
• You are called to grow spiritually
• Walk in the Spirit and we will bring Glory to His name.
