1 John 4:8-10.  God is love and he demonstrates it through His Son Jesus Christ.

Definitions:
Unconditional love is affection or devotion offered freely, without any conditions or expectations of something in return. It's a love that is not based on someone's actions or performance, but on their inherent worth. It's sometimes referred to as compassionate love or agape love.

The Bible says in scripture that love looks like this:  1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

Love is not:
  • Selfish
  • Proud
  • Angry and Vengeful
  • Counting others wrong doings
