Instrument of Love pt2

Main Point:  God has called us to be supernatural instruments of love.  This kind of Love only comes from true repentance and surrender into God’s will.  This means our carnal sinful will must be subdued by the power of the holy Spirit.

Foundation Scripture:  John 13:12-15.  Jesus illustrates serving and loving others.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• The closer Jesus got to his death the more he focused on showing his disciples to love one another.
  • Jesus used the ‘washing of feet as the example to love and serve each other’
  • Genuine Love makes an impact (world cup example).  Love that comes from God through you is eternal.
  • Be an instrument of Love.

Jesus simplifies what is most important:

• Matthew 22:37-40. Religious leaders asked Jesus what was the greatest commandment and Jesus responds:
  • Love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love the neighbor as thyself.
• John 13:33-35.  Jesus breaks all commandments down to one commandment.  Love one another as Jesus loves you.
• Romans 13:8. Loving others supernaturally fulfills the law.  Godly loves toward shows you know God.
• Galatians 5:14. All the law is fulfilled in one word; love they neighbor as thyself.
• John 15.9-11.  When you continue in the love of God you will find joy.

Supernatural love comes only from God.

• 1 John 4:7-21.  V7.  Everyone that loveth is born of God.
• Luke 6:31-35.  Natural love is not the same as supernatural love

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• When you have surrendered to God’s Love you become an instrument to supernatural love.
  • This means that when you use your gifts to serve others, your actions are empowered with God’s love
• When you have surrendered to God’s love you become more Christlike
  • Your carnal sinful nature decreases as God’s righteous nature increases in you (instrument of Love)

Conclusion:
