Main Point:  Show your love for Jesus by being passionate about growing and being an ambassador of God’s love toward others.

Pastor’s Thoughts

• Not the kind of love the world understands, but the kind of love that comes from God
• There is a difference between mankind’s understanding of love and love that comes from God.
  • Luke 6:31-38.
    • Loving with Godly love, not because it is deserved, but because God has called us to be instruments of his love.

Events that show heavenly Godly love

• The Cross- John 15:13. No greater love than giving your life for someone else.
• Salvation.  John 3:16. God loves us and provided a way so we may be with him for eternity through Jesus.

How important was it for Jesus to teach his disciples about loving and serving others.

• John 13:1-17.  Knowing his days on earth had come to an end, Jesus demonstrates the importance of loving and serving others.
• John 21:15-17.  We love Jesus by loving others.

Summary:

• Show your love for Jesus by being passionate about growing and being an ambassador of God’s love toward others.
• 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  There are not conditions required for us to demonstrate the love of God as defined in scripture.
• The answer to chaos and sin found in this world is found in the love demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
  • God’s Kingdom is all about Love.
• 1 Corinthians 13:2. Without love that comes from God we are nothing.
