No Other God's pt2-Seeing Clearly

Main Point:  We are to have no other God’s.  Love God and Love people are the greatest commandments.  When God is first in our hearts we can see God’s plans more clearly.

Foundation Scripture: Exodus 20:1-3.  God requires us to have no other God’s.
Define Most Valuable:  Having the highest worth, utility, or importance.

Heart check:

• What does your heart value the most?
• What is the most important thing to you?
• How do you want to be remembered?

Samson had other Gods and could not see clearly:

• Judges 13:1-5.
  • Samson was called to help deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.

 

• Judges 16:
  • V1-4-7.  Delilah betrays Samson for money
  • V15-22.  Samson is distracted because he has other Gods/interest before God,

 
Samson cries out to God and God answers his prayer:

• Judges 16:28-31.
  • Even though Samson made mistakes and had other Gods/interest, which kept him from seeing Gods plans clearly,
    • Samson cried out to God and God answered him and Samson fulfilled his calling to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• When God is first place in our hearts, we can see God’s will and plan more clearly
• Check your heart to make sure the most important thing in your life is to love God, please God, and be an instrument for God.
• When other interest occupy first place in your heart, you can’t see clearly, like Samson, and the enemy can more easily deceive us.

Testimony:

Conclusion:

• Make Sure there are no other God’s before Him in your heart
• Identify other interest that seem to draw you away from God’s peace and joy and remove these things
• When God is first in your heart you will see his plans more clearly
• When God is first in your heart you will have peace and joy, regardless of circumstances
• God is good and is worthy to be first place in our hearts.
