No Other God's pt7-Love

Main Point:  Why should we have no other god’s before God?  Because he first loved us and showed it by sending Jesus to redeem us.  God is worthy to be praised.  King Jesus will be praised.

Foundation Scripture:  Exodus 20:1-3.  God requires us to have no other Gods because He alone is the only one Holy and Righteous, and He alone has saved us from a lost eternity.

5 Things that happen when we have other God’s/Interest before the one true God.

• Diminished Clarity on what God’s will and plans are for you to impact His Kingdom.
• Diminished Joy and peace
• Diminished Focus on the most important thing
• Diminished Anointed Impact
• Overall Spiritual Stagnation (lack of growth and maturity)

Why did God Create Humanity?

• It’s all about Love.

1 John 4:12-16.  
V16.  God is Love

Why should we put God first?

• Because God first loved us (1 John 4:19-21)
• Because God is Love.
• Because God provided a way for us to be with him for eternity (Jesus is the way).

Why should we Love others?

• Because our Love toward others is a demonstration of God’s love toward humanity (1 John 4:12)
• Those who Love God will Love Others.  It’s all about Love.
• John 13:34-35.  It is genuinely love that tells the world who God is and who belongs to God

Jesus is the proof that God Loves us

• John 3:16.  God sent Jesus because of Love

                                    
Pastor’s Thoughts

• When you have encountered God’s love.  You are never the same.
• Putting God first is an honor because He loved us first.
• As sinners, we have been purchased by god through the redeeming blood of Jesus

 
Conclusion:

• This series, Have no other God’s, has reminded me that I must be intentional in making sure God is first
• When we genuinely put God first we:
  • See clearly God’s will
  • have joy unspeakable
  • have focus on the most important Godly things
  • have anointed impact for God’s Kingdom
  • will Grow
• The first commandment is “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”
