Knowing Jesus and Walking in the Spirit

Main Point:  Desire to Know Jesus in your secret place and walk in the Spirit daily and you will be a person of strong Faith, strong anointing, and God’s Glory will be evident in all you do.

Two Kinds of people who claim to be Christians

• Those that are phony, and Jesus will say I never knew you
• And those that are real, and they know Jesus

 
Characteristics of those who know Jesus

• They are new in Christ (transformation of the heart).  1 Corinthians 5:17.
  • No matter what you love God
• Their mind is being renewed on a journey to be Christ like.  Romans 12:2.
• You know you are in a daily battle to overcome sin by walking in the Spirit.  Romans 7:21-23.
  • Walking in the Spirit means you are denying carnal self and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you in life.
    • If you are not walking in the Spirit, you will fulfill the lust of the flesh.   Galatians 5:16

 
How does one walk in the Spirit

• Yielding your daily life and decisions to the guidance of the Holy Spirit
  • Acknowledge God’s presence in every area of your daily life
  • Depend on God daily
    • Admit to yourself that your helpless to do good or conquer sin (like anger, pride, impatience, etc)

Knowing Jesus and walking in the Spirit

• Those who know God in their secret place and walk in the Spirit daily will shine with God’s Glory flowing through them.  John 7:38.
  • Strong Faith, anointing, and God’s glory will be evident in your life

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• You don’t need to be perfect to be used by God
  • God is looking for hearts that know him and hearts that desire to walk in the Spirit.
• Do not be satisfied with ordinary; You are called to be a masterpiece for His Kingdom.

• Desire to Know Jesus in your secret place and walk in the Spirit daily and you will be a person:
  • of strong Faith,
  • of strong anointing,
  • and God’s Glory will be evident in all you do.
