Pastor’s Thoughts:
- Jesus is Hope.
- Not even our weaknesses and imperfections can stop the hope we have in Jesus.
- Peter Never Hopeless:
- Peter is known as the rock.
- Peter is known as the leader of Christianity who risked his life to preach the Good news of Jesus Christ.
- But like all of us. Peter had that moment(s) where he felt unworthy before Jesus.
Luke 5:1-11.
- Peter heard Jesus preach from his boat.
- Peter witnessed a miracle and recognized that he was in the presence of someone Holy.
- Peter first reaction when he realized Jesus was a Holy man was to feel unworthy.
- Jesus didn’t even address Peter’s weaknesses. He just says “Fear Not” you are destined for Kingdom greatness.
Pastor’s Thoughts:
- I love this part of Peter’s story because it is our story as well.
- We feel unworthy
- We feel like we can never be good enough for God
- But Jesus doesn’t see that in you. Jesus only sees that, like Peter, every single person in this room is destined for Greatness.
- It is the truth. That is why as long as we pursue Jesus as Lord and Savior we are “NEVER HOPELESS”
Summary:
- In Jesus we are never hopeless.
- Our weakness are irrelevant if our hope is in the saving and transforming power and authority found in the name of Jesus.
- So if you feel unworthy or inadequate or if you think you have made to many mistakes, to be used by God to bring Glory to His name, As long as Jesus is your Lord and Savior (1st priority in your life), You are never without hope.
- You are never Hopeless in the arms of Jesus
- Jesus truly is your hope and is the one true hope for the all mankind.
- You are destined for greatness as long as Jesus is your Lord.
You are destined to:
- Bring Glory to the Kingdom of God
- To be free from strongholds and darkness
- To be sanctified – right standing before God.
- To have Authority and Power in the name of Jesus
- The key is to ensure Jesus is Lord of your life. First Place. That, you can control. No one can stop you from being an anointed child of God’s kingdom.
- Never hopeless with Jesus. That is why we are determined to pursue Jesus even more today than yesterday.
