Wait Upon the Lord

Main Point. Those who wait upon the Lord and trust, rely, and expect God to intervene will see the hand of God intervene on their behalf with.

- v7. Guard your heart for God and the Lord will see your heart.
- Fight and protect your secret place time with God.
- Your carnal sinful nature will fight against knowing God personally
- But your Spirit nature longs to know God intimately.

- v11. David took care of the sheep. This was his secret place time with the Lord.
- 1 Samuel 17:32-37. David relates his victory in protecting his sheep from the enemy as a supernatural event from God.

- Find the blessings in your life and give all the Glory to God for the great things he has done.
- Having a heart for God results in giving God credit and Glory for all the good things in your life.
- How many years did it take before David became King? 15 years.
- For most of these 15 years David is running for his life.
- David was waiting upon the Lord Patiently. God’s timing is the best timing.
David waited upon the Lord
- 1 Samuel 24:1-7. -David did not take matters into his own hands, He waited on the Lord.
- Psalm 27:14. Wait on the Lord and he shall strengthen your heart.
- Psalm 34:8. Taste and see that the Lord is good for those who trust him

- Who has waited a long time for the Lord to complete his work in your prayer request.
- Do not be anxious or impatient. Wait on the Lord and you will see that the Lord is good.
Wait on the Lord:
- Waiting on the Lord does not mean passively doing nothing.
- Waiting on the Lord means actively trusting in God's timing and guidance, expecting His intervention, and relying on His strength during difficult times, rather than passively waiting

- Isaiah 40:31. Those that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.
- Lamentations 3:25-26. The Lord is good to those that wait for him.
- Psalm 40:1-4. God hears the patient. God will set your feet upon a solid rock and bring you joy.
