Seek First the Kingdom

Main Point:  Seek first the Kingdom of God and you will have all that you need to accomplish Gods will in your life with joy and peace and purpose.

Foundation Scripture:  Matthew 6:33. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all you need to accomplish God’s plan for your life will be done.

The Journey to seeking God First:

• Before Salvation, a soul is lost and permanently separated from God.  Their Spirit is dead.
  • Carnal sinful nature is in total control.  Even doing good deeds won’t resurrect your spirit.  Only Jesus.
• Salvation brings your spirit from death to life and you are no longer separated from God.
  • Then the battle of two natures begins to war in your mind.  Galatians 5: 16-26.
    • Do we obey our sinful nature?
    • Or do we obey our righteous spirit nature that has access to God?
      • Ephesians 4:21-23.  Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

                                               
Renewing your mind:

• Romans 12:2. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
• Christians who renew their mind to obey the things of the Spirit are the ones who overcome sin by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• It is not our will power that overcomes sin, it is the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
• So be filled with the Spirit of God’s righteousness as often as you can
  • Put yourself in opportunities to be in God’s presence and to be filled by the Spirit of God.
    • Your secret Place
    • Praise and Worship
    • Reading the Word of God
    • Giving and serving
• A renewed mind obedient to the Spirit puts God first and will see the hand of God in all that they do.

The outcome for those who seek God first

• All things you need to accomplish God’s will, will be done.
  • Miracles will happen as you need them to accomplish God’s will
  • Your joy and peace will be evident when you seek God first
