Giving

Main Point:  True Praise and Worship is demonstrated in Giving.  We give because we love God.  Giving is Praise and Worship.
                                             
Foundation Scripture:  2 Corinthians 9:6-8.  God loves a cheerful giver.
V8. God will provide what you need so you may abound in every good work.

Giving brings overflow (You can’t out give God)

• Giving brings overflow but we don’t give to get an overflow we give because we love God, period.
• Luke 6:36-38.  God is faithful to those who give unselfishly for the good of God’s Kingdom.

Key Principles of Biblical Giving

• Praise & Worship & Love:
  • Giving is an act of worship and a proof of love for God, not just a financial obligation.
• Voluntary & Cheerful:
  • It should be given willingly, joyfully, and without compulsion or fanfare (Matthew 6:3-4).
• Sacrificial:
  • It should sometimes involve giving up something valuable, reflecting Christ's ultimate sacrifice (2 Corinthians 8:1-2).
• Secretly:
  • Jesus taught giving should be done in secret, not for human praise (Matthew 6:3-4).
• To Meet Needs:
  • The purpose is to supply the needs of others and the church, glorifying God and showing His character.
• Grace-Driven:
  • It flows from gratitude for God's grace, leading to thanksgiving (2 Corinthians 9:10-12).
• For God’s Glory:
  • Giving is not for man’s glory (Matthew 6:2)
