Trust the Journey

Main Point:  Trust the Journey knowing that God is leading us to Kingdom good.

The ultimate example of trusting the journey:
Matthew 22:40-43.  Jesus did not want the trial but trusted the journey from the Father to bring about Kingdom good.
  • No better example: our Lord came to earth to do the will of the Father regardless of trials and human pain.

Focus on loving and serving others, not the rewards.
  • Mark 10: 35-45.
    • V37.  James and John ask to be recognized in a high place in the Glory of King Jesus.
    • V38.  Jesus tell the 2 disciples that they do not realize what they are asking.  The sacrifice required to be lifted up in God’s Kingdom is to die of your will and trust the journey.
    • V39.  Though James and John did not realize it, Jesus prophesied that they would be martyred.
    • V42-45.  Greatness in God’s Kingdom is those that minister and serve others.

Pastor’s thought:
  • The more time you spend in your secret place with God, the more passion your spirit will have to love and serve others.

What happens when you trust the journey?
  • What seems dead arises to life (God turns things around as needed on the journey-dry bones arise)
  • Mark 16:14-18.  Signs and wonder will follow believers thrusting the journey
  • Matthew 6:33. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all you need to accomplish God’s plan for your life will be done.

Summary
  • Trust the journey God has for you.
  • As you love and serve others, God will intervene
  • Those with a secret place time with God will have passion in their spirit to love and serve others.
  • Trust the Journey knowing that God is leading us to Kingdom good.
