The Early Church - Part 8 - Love Changes the World

Main Point:   The early church showed us to Love others.   God’s Love through us will change the world.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• When the world sees Godly love through us, then the world is changed.
• God is Love.  And as his servants we are God’s love to the world.

Scriptures on Love:

• John 3:16.  For God so loved the world he sent His only Son.
• 1 John 4:19.  We love because he first loved us.
• 1 John 4:16.  God is Love.  Those that love are in God.
• John 15:12.  Love one another as Christ loved you.
• 1 Corinthians 16:14.  Do all things with Love
• John 13:34-35.  Jesus emphasizes loving one another.  The world will know who belongs to Jesus by their love.
• 1 Corinthians 13:13. Faith, Hope and Love.  Greatest of these is Love

Story of the prisoner that was going to commit suicide, but Love.
Acts 16:25-36.  Paul chooses to stay in Prison because of Love for a stranger.

Pastor’s Thoughts:

• Paul is in prison for teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ
• Paul and Silas prayed and sang praised to God in Prison
• After an earthquake Paul did not flee because of Love
• The prison guard new that Paul could have left and realized that he did not to spare his life.  Love
• Once the prison guard witnessed unselfish Godly love, he and is who family was saved.  Love
• Paul was set free because of Love.

Matthew 5:43-48.  Love your enemies.  True Godly love is perfection.  God is Love.

• Jesus makes it clear that we should Love everyone.  Not just those that Love us because even the heathens do that.
• And it is this real godly love in us that will change the world.  One soul at a time.
• When the world sees Godly love through us, then the world is changed.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5.  Love is patient.  Love is Kind. Etc.
