Breakthrough Scriptures:
- John 10:10. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus comes to bring abundant life.
- Isaiah 54:17: No weapon form against you shall prosper
- 1 Corinthians 10:13. God always provides a way of escape. A breakthrough for sin and trials of life.
Pastor’s thoughts:
- I love reading God’s word because it reminds me that against the enemy, we always win. There is always a victory ahead.
- As Christians, we must always be prepared to fight spiritual battles and fast and pray for breakthroughs.
Story of Nehemiah:
Nehemiah 1: 1-11.
- Nehemiah received a passion and vision to do the work of the Lord. (build the temple wall)
- How do you get passion to do the work of the Lord?
- First realize you’re a sinner and you need a savior.
- Then, once you fall in love with Jesus because of what Jesus did on the cross
- Then, you accept Jesus as Lord, you get water baptized, then you seek to be led the Holy Spirit.
- And what a beautiful journey that is. God is faithful..
- Even in the hard times, God is always there and brings the victory
- How do you get passion to do the work of the Lord?
The resistance:
Nehemiah 4:7-14. Nehemiah’s enemy resisted and tried to stop Nehemiah from building the wall. But Nehemiah pressed on because of his passion to do God’s work and he knew God was on his side.
Pastor’s Thoughts:
- In life the enemy will always try to stop you from building the Kingdom of God.
- Ignore the enemy, take one day at a time in prayer and let God use you and great things will happen. The wall will be built.
- The journey of an empowered Christian life will encounter resistance
- When resistance from darkness comes, don’t wither away, always stand up and pray for a breakthrough
Examples of the enemy trying to frustrate or distract:
- It’s like that day you feel frustrated and you don’t even know why?
- Or you’re in church and for whatever reason you can’t focus on Praising King Jesus.
- Or a serious of circumstances don’t go your way.
Be determined to see the victory:
- During these times I encourage you to fast and pray for breakthrough.
- We are children of the most high God, if we need a breakthrough, then our loving God will answer our cry for spiritual breakthrough.
- We need a breakthrough in our culture. Sin abounds but God will use his people to show that Grace will abound even more. (sin like, drunkenness, abortion, homosexuality, gender confusion, pride etc.)
- We need a breakthrough in our individual lives to answer the call God has for us.
Breakthroughs come in the Spirit
- 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Our war is not in the flesh but in the Spirit. We are empowered to defeat strongholds.
- Ephesians 6:12. We wrestle not against flesh and blood.
Conclusion:
It’s time for a Breakthrough in Jesus name.
