God's Word

Main Point:  The Word of God is truth and is everlasting.  As Christians we must passionately seek to know the Word of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God’s word always has purpose
Isaiah 55: 8-12.  God’s word provides nourishment and will never return void.  It always has purpose.

God’s word builds our faith

Romans 10:17. Faith comes by hearing the word of God.

God’s word is living and active

Hebrews 4:12. The word of God is living and active.  It discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

God’s word benefits Christians

2 Timothy 3:16. All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproach, for correction, and for training in righteousness

God’s word guides us
Psalm 119:105.  God’s word is a lamp unto my feet

God’s word is a weapon against darkness
Ephesians 6:17.  Put on the helmet of salvation and take the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

Pastor’s Thoughts:
  • When were not saved (spiritually dead), the word of God is dead to us
  • But once our spirit is alive (salvation), then the Holy Spirit begins to reveal and lead us into all truth.
  • When we combined a desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit and a desire to read God’s word, then the word of God because a powerful weapon for you life.
  • A daily walk with God is a must in order to grow in your walk with God
    • Every day pray that the Holy Spirit fill you with God’s love and righteousness
    • Every day read God’s word (The Holy Bible)
  • If you struggle with this daily task, you are in need of a heart transformation.  You need to encounter the Love of God.
  • That is why it is important to attend church and praise and worship King Jesus because in his presence is where we are transformed.

Conclusion:

  • Be passionate about God’s Word and be passionate about allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you into truth.
