Prayer

Main Point:   God hears our prayers so we don’t have to hope God hears us but believe in faith God hears us and is working on our behalf.

God hears your prayers
  • Proverbs 15:29. God is far from the wicked but he hears the prayers of His people.

Why Pray?
  • As Christians we have Kingdom privilege to pray without ceasing (often).  1 Thessalonians 5:15-19
  • For peace. Philippians 4:6-7.  Let your request be made known to God with a thankful heart and the peace of God will shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.

When you pray do you hope or believe?
  • When you pray, claiming God’s promises in his word (like raise up a child in the Lord and he will not depart), then you don’t need to hope.  Just believe because God has promised it.  Your child will be saved?
  • When you have a need and you need to pray about it?  Find a scripture promise that goes with your prayer request and petition God.  God hears your prayers
    • How many times should we petition God?  Persistently.
      •  (Luke 18:1-8.  Story of the woman requesting persistently to a judge)
  • You never have to doubt if God hears your prayers?

Does God answer every prayer?
3 Possible Answers:  Yes, No, or Later.
  • No matter what God does in response to your prayer.  Never stop believing that God hears you and God is good.
  • Never stop believing that God’s ways are better than our ways.
  • Never stop believing that God is good and as a loving father desires to fulfill the righteous desires of your heart.  (Psalm 37:4)
    • The key is to request with a righteous desire.
    • If we petition God selfishly or ‘amiss’, then we will receive not (James 4:3)

The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
  • James 5:16.  When someone in need needs someone to pray for them, who do they look for?  Someone they consider to be close to God.
  • Share your prayer request with our prayer Pastor Eloy who is anointed to stand in the gap in prayer for you.

Pastor’s Thoughts:
  • We are privileged children of the Kingdom of God and we should pray often because we have access to the Creator of all things who cares and loves us.
  • God hears our prayers and is at work on our behalf.
  • God may change the desire of our heart before our prayer is answered.  Don’t be afraid.
  • How important is prayer in your life.
